This one was not really for me。 Kind of a nightmare before Christmas， Edward Gorey lite， Adventure Time vibe that is just not my aesthetic。 That said， it might be a worthwhile halloween read in the future， and it does a decent job of stitching a counting book into a narrative。 At 3。5 my kid is really into books with a lot of dialogue right now， so this failed to grab her attention。 But I feel like other kids who like this sort of gothic style of spookiness， like my nephew， might love it！
